Mountain

There are several references to mountains which may also be genome parables. If so there is the possibility of a huge amount of more inspired documents in the genome.

Daniel's Credentials

To understand the text of the book of Daniel is it important to review the qualifications for Daniel himself. This sets the context for the rest of the book.

⁴boys in whom was no blemish, those who were handsome in their appearance and skillful in wisdom and possessing knowledge and edified in the mind, those who were able in power to stand in the temple of the king to his service, and to teach them the scrolls and the tongue of the Chaldeans. A Proverbs 1:4 (Daniel 1:4 BRB)

This focus on his skills informs how the rest of the book works. This is important to understanding much of the rest of the book.

Important to remember, Daniel is the man most responsible for inventing Hebrew as we know it now. He does so under the direction of Nebuchadnezzar. This would normally be a terrible crime, but as old man was told this was acceptable in his case. It was to preserve the basic story down to our day.

Daniel had to go through a period of training and testing. Once this was over he was ready to enter the king's service.

Stone Into Mountain

Daniel's first job comes in the next chapter when he must explain to the king that king's dream and its give the king an interpretation.

³¹You king were looking and a great image whose brightness was excellent stood before you and its appearance was terrible. ³²The head was of fine gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of brass, ³³its legs of iron, its feet part of them of iron and part of them of clay. ³⁴You saw that a stone was cut out without hands which struck the image on its feet that were of iron and clay and broke them to pieces. A Exodus 31:18 A Isaiah 8:14 ³⁵Then the iron and the clay and the brass and the silver and the gold were all broken to pieces together and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors and a strong wind carried them away so that no place was found for them. The stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole land. A Matthew 16:18 Daniel 2:31-35 (Daniel 2:31-35 BRB)

Note that there is an interpretation of this dream given in the paragraphs that follow. Of course no word of prophecy is interpreted in its own book, so the given interpretation applies to the king personally, but may not be the best to us as readers.

The various metals used in the statue are likely the various stages of editing down through time. Each stage represents another phase of editing as the text reduces and moves down through time.

This is not a specific parable for Nebuchadnezzar's kingdom, but to his place in handling the edited text. That text will be overthrown at some point in the future when it is struck with a stone.

That stone will then grow into a great mountain which fills the whole land.

This dream is based on 2 earlier stories. One of those we looked at earlier. The stone striking the statue is an allusion to the story of David striking the Goliath with a stone. A stone from a sack. A man's stone.

Stones, as always are the carrier for written language.

The language system of Nebuchadnezzar will be struck and collapse by a language carrying stone. This is the heart of this prophetic dream.

This stone is special, it is formed, but not by human hands.

There are other parables on how the DNA will be read out, one of those follows deeper in the book of Daniel itself. How that stone is formed will be describe later. It is not just carved.

So this stone, like one of David's stones, grows up into a mountain.

The mountain side of this dream is best described in Micah 4. A mountain will grow up and become a place of teaching Joshua's ways.

This mountain is a mountain of information.

Capacity of the Genome

If we scan down into further dreams in the Book of Daniel we find a dream of a tree, cut down for about '7 times.'

¹³The decree went forth that the wise men should be killed and guards sought Daniel and his companions to kill them. A 2 Corinthians 6:9 ¹⁴Then Daniel meditated and took counsel and then said to Arioch the commander of the guard of the king who had gone out to kill the wise men of Babel, ¹⁵Why is this decree from the king so urgent? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel. ¹⁶Then Daniel desired of the king to give him time and promised that he would show the king the interpretation. Daniel 2:14-16¹⁷Then Daniel went to his house and to Hananiah and Mishael and Azariah his companions he revealed this word Daniel 2:17-19 (Daniel 2:13-17 BRB)

There are 30 days per month. 12 months per common year and 13 months in Sabbath or 7th years.

7 times is 30 * 12 * 7 + 30 = 2550 days in 7 years.

This is an important number for finding and recovering the calendar. See the Bible Time project at paleo.in for more on that.

But Daniel is about language. Could this 7 times reference also be pointing into the text?

Roughly speaking there are about 3,000,000,000 codons in the human genome. If data is not compressed, it contains room for about 1,000,000,000 letters.

A standard Bible is about 2,000,000 letters, so room for about 500 Bibles of material.

We currently think the inspired parts of the Testimony are only around 400,000 letters. If so, there is room for about 2500 documents. Precisely room for 2597 documents.

[Exact math would be good here. Need a little more tooling.]

This may be a parable about how many Testimony length documents (of around 400,000 letters) are to be recovered from the human genome.

The Whole World

Nebuchadnezzar's dream suggests the stone fills the world. This a parable for Joshua's teaching governing everything.

More details for this are tucked away at the tail end of the Gospel of John. Here is the quote.

²⁵There are also many other things that Joshua did which if they were written 1 by 1 not even this world, I believe, could contain the writings that would be written. John 21:25 (John 21:25 BRB)

The normal English for this suggests the size of the library of books that could be written would overfill the world.

An alternative view her is the set of books which will be found will cover the whole world, and more. This in an informational sense.

Imagine 2550 books packed in the genome.

Every nation and empire on earth could be covered. Every leader could be covered. Along with Joshua's opinions on every leader.

Every war could be covered.

The history of Mars could be covered.

The destruction of plant V.

There could be survey level material for the other branches of the human race.

A summary of the history of the universe.

All scientific disciplines could have text books.

If some of the material is encoded visually, say star charts, then it may not all be text. But, it could be an illustrated library.

There is room for the text we know to grow into a massive mountain of material.
